Just another typical morning...

***Warning: This story involves poop so weak stomaches need not read further***

As I write this, it is just after 9am and I’m home alone because my husband is driving my son to Gramma’s for the day, a task that I normally take care of and much earlier than this.

So what happened?

Let’s begin at 12:30am when Bambino started crying, wailing actually, from his crib. I groggily made my way to his room and pulled him into our bed (yes, I am extremely lazy when woken up in the middle of the night). He tossed and turned and eventually got comfortable but alas, I did not. Finally at 3:30am my back was so sore that I got my husband to pick him up and put him back in his crib (I couldn’t even pick him up my back was hurting so bad-its fine this morning though).

Bambino woke up for the second time at 7:45am, yay!, and was in a great mood. However he was soaked through so an immediate change was required, which he hates! but I managed to get him dry and dressed for the day. Breakfast included apple juice and a banana which he enjoyed, as well as sharing a bowl of cereal with me.

I jumped in the shower and when I went to get dressed realized that I had no pants clean. Just one pair of leggings which would not be suitable for my meeting this afternoon. No worries though-I’d just wear them now and still have plenty of time to do laundry before I have to leave at 2pm.

I packed up the diaper bag, and grabbed Bambino’s jacket and sandals. Yes, sandals, because his only pair of runners have not yet dried from the pumpkin patch fun on Saturday.

As I place him on my lap I immediately begin to smell something not so pleasant.

Oh no.

I open the diaper to take a look and my hand is quickly covered in poop, lots and lots of poop. Have I mentioned that he has not been feeling very well since his 18 month shots on Friday? So another diaper change is required and Bambino is NOT HAPPY! He has a diaper rash that hurts him with every wipe and thus he struggled through the whole thing (and you can only imagine what that meant for the clean-up).

Finally, after everything was changed and clean, I sat back down for a second attempt at his jacket and shoes and quickly realized that my pants, my one and only clean pair of pants, are covered in poop.

Wonderful :(

So now I sit in pajamas and wait for laundry to be completed while my husband does the morning drive.

My mom is actually grateful that we are running behind as she woke up late herself, fighting a cold. As are myself and husband actually; sore throats and runny noses all around.

Oh, and the laundry? Well the dryer had to be tuned back on as the towels were not fully dry and the load in the wash had to be re-done because the soap clumped onto the clothes. My pants are still sitting in the dirty hamper.

Sigh.
