First was the non-stress test which, of course, Mr. Belly Baby did not co-operate for. He barely moved the entire time but as soon as I went back out to the waiting room he began to throw a party. This just proves to me that once again I am going to have a little boy on my hands who can not be forced to do anything on anyone else's timetable but his own! At least he's standing up for himself early :)
Next up was the ultrasound. My technician was not Mr. Personality, that is for sure, LOL! But, that being said, he was efficient and got the job done quickly and painlessly. Baby is currently weighing in at about 8lbs, 12 oz-another big boy entering the family!
Which brings me to the final appointment-the ob consult. Now this appointment hurt! He had to do an eternal exam which included a swab of my membranes (I think that's what he called it anyway)-OUCH! He decided that since I've had gestational diabetes this pregnancy and since baby is measuring so big, that we should induce early.
So even though I'm only 1cm dilated and even though I'm still 8 days away from the official due date, they've put me on the induction list.
Sigh.
But you know what? Though its not what I wanted I am okay with it and I am actually at peace with the decision. I firmly believe that this baby will arrive on his own terms, when he chooses, regardless of whether they induce me or not, and that makes me very happy.
Not too much longer until I'll be holding my beautiful baby boy in my arms :)
