Starting with our snow journey.
Anyone who knows me either from real life, twitter or facebook knows that my family had a big move planned in mid November. We moved from one rental into a bigger rental to suit the needs of our growing family and our ever-shrinking wallet! The move was all planned out, scheduled in a way that we thought would be easiest, and everything was set.
And then the snow came.
We ended up stuck in our cottage. We couldn’t get our vehicle out and there was no way a moving truck was getting down our drive to move anything.
After calling a tow truck,(who also got stuck and had to call another tow truck to get both himself and us out), we managed to make our way out of the cottage and over to my parents place. We spent the night there; bambino and I slept on a mattress on the floor while hubby slept in the lazyboy armchair.

Not ideal, but it worked, and besides, it was only one night. The snow would be cleared up enough the next day to move.
Um, not quite.
The next day we were still snowed in and once again canceled the moving truck. My dad and husband managed to walk our mattresses up the hill and into my father’s truck so we could get them over to the new rental and at least have something to sleep on.
And so there we were, in the new home, no furniture minus the mattresses on the floor, surrounded by boxes that could not be unpacked because there were no shelves to unpack them onto. Bambino didn’t mind so much; I think he saw it as a bit of an adventure! Besides, this arrangement meant he was able to sleep in mommy and daddy’s “bed” for a whole week. Great for him; not so fun for us. And have I mentioned how fun it is for a very pregnant woman to climb up off the floor hour after hour? Yup, you get the picture!
The snow kept coming the entire week but by the weekend, enough of it had cleared up so that our furniture and the remainder of boxes could be moved over and we could settle comfortably into our new home.I love my creature comforts! And I also love my friends and family! There were so many people who came out to help and support us when we needed it the most and to them, I will be eternally grateful :)
Every box is now unpacked and the pictures are up on the walls.

All that is left to do is got through the boxes of bambino’s old items to see what we have on hand for belly baby and, of course, putting up a Christmas tree this weekend.
It was crazy, and I’m glad its over, but it was well worth it-we are very happy in our new home and are looking forward to raising our boys here for the next few years!
LOVE the picture of your two guys 'reading' the morning fliers! xoxo
